This contemporary family home has a brief to meet the criteria of the “Living Building Challenge” and in doing so adopts a combination of timber, unfired clay bricks and straw bales to achieve the unconventional architectural form.
Working closely with the architect, Sam Foster, we have developed a key feature of the house for the main living space, detailed with a bespoke dynamic timber frame. Other specialist advisors involved with the project include Barbara Jones of Strawworks and Sandy Halliday of Gaia Group.
The project is currently out to tender with an aspirational start on site of mid-late 2016.
