Graduate Civil Engineer

Location: Manchester, UK

We’ve got a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and ambitious Graduate to Graduate+2 Civil Engineer to join our team. Delivering unique, sustainable and technically challenging projects, as part of wider development as well as civil engineering led schemes, ranging in scale from £2m to £200m.

In the role, your key responsibilities will involve:

  • Assist in the design and analysis of civil engineering projects.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project leaders to develop innovative solutions.
  • Prepare technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • Participate in project meetings and contribute to the decision-making process.
  • Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with relevant standards and regulations.
  • Support the team in delivering projects on time and within budget.

Your Technical Toolbox should include:

  • Experience in using Civils 3D to undertake cut and fill analysis; highway design and detail drainage design with integration of drainage modelling software; vertical and horizontal vehicle tracking.
  • Modelling and assessing complex drainage networks which fully embrace SuDS using industry standard software (InfoDrainage and MicroDrainage).
  • Up to date knowledge of National and Local Planning Policy to be able to produce Flood Risk assessments and Drainage reports for planning.
  • Familiarity and clear understanding of current UK design standards and guidance
  • Knowledge in external works design including paved and asphalt surfaces, earthwork specifications and industrial concrete slabs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
  • A proactive and hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a fast-paced environment.
