This regeneration masterplan for 92 homes in these historic streets in Hartlepool will be transformational in the creation of a new and exciting residential community. The houses were built in the late 19th Century, however have in part been left vacant for an extensive period, leaving them in various states of disrepair.
We have been working closely with the client PlaceFirst, architects MCAU and landscape architects BDP to deliver a considered and affordable solution for housing for market rent. Our hands on pragmatic approach to the restoration works has involved extensive alterations to the buildings, implemented to make them suitable for modern day living. Externally, the site wide drainage strategy has enhanced the network to incorporate SUDS within the civils infrastructure.
Communal gardens and improved highways enhance the sense of place, with a new central public square at its core. A small percentage of the masterplan will incorporate new build homes using light gauge steel construction.
